In developing this exciting urban project, the City challenged the design team to eliminate the use of potable water for all site water features & irrigation systems. Challenge accepted!
What we accomplished:
1.
Utilizing treated building blow-down water, Hines designed an inventive delivery to site storage serving eight (8) on-site water features, one of which included a 20-foot wide, 30-foot free fall off the parking garage wall.
2.
Efficient water feature mechanical system engineering saved the Client over $400,000 in redundant construction costs
3.
Water First planning and engineering created an opportunity to eliminate the use of potable water for irrigation and water feature recharge
